MBABANE – Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini has attributed record-breaking Mbabane Swallows’ documented success to sound leadership.

The capital city giants stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to 26 after beating Botswana’s Orapa United by 1-0 in last Saturday’s CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round first leg encounter away in Francistown. The premier was drawn for comment ahead of this afternoon’s decisive showdown against the same opposition at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The PM stressed that teams hoping to excel should put their house in order first.
“In all efforts, including football, sound management is key. Swallows are lucky to be under good management,” he said suggesting if others teams copied, there would be tough competition as he responded to a question of whether Swallows’ success was a sign of the standard dropping or them doing something right.

Commenting on the game, the head of government felt Swallows, who are under the leadership of astute businessman, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze would prevail today after a spirited display away from home.

“They have done well away, so they now have home ground advantage. Psychologically and technically they are good. Supporters figures are expected to swell,” said the PM, who wished the CAF envoys including Royal Leopard away at AS Vita in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) success this weekend.

The PM is a well-known football enthusiast, making a stop at Somhlolo National Stadium to watch major games, including the recent Ingwenyama Cup final, won 1-0 by Mbabane Swallows ahead of Young Buffaloes.
