FRANCISTOWN – Multiple award-winning coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati has refused to get carried away by Mbabane Swallows’ heroic 1-0 win away to Orapa United in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The red and white giants recorded their first away victory in CAF competition courtesy of a 73rd minute Wonder Samba Jive Nhleko’s strike at the Francistown Sports Complex on Saturday.
Vilakati, though hailed what he said was a significant victory, was quick to declare that the contest was far from over.

“We cannot make that mistake of thinking that we are done. The battle has just started. It was crucial to win away, because we showed that we are not a one-man team after losing trusted striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. The other players did the job under the circumstances. The opponents were a tough team which we cannot undermine going to the second leg,” he said.

He said the plan was to absorb an early pressure and try to force the opponents to play wide. We knew that they would not match us physically and they cracked in the second half,” he said.

The same was shared by a visibly disappointed Orapa United coach Madinda Ndlovu in a post-match interview.
“We played well controlling the game well, only to lose concentration at crucial stages to concede the goal. We are still in it and we are going to prepare well and go to Swaziland to try to win the game. We had spied on Swallows and we knew what to expect and we were not surprised.
