MBABANE – AS Vita will flex their muscles against South Africa ABSA Premiership giants Orlando Pirates ahead of their clash against Royal Leopard in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The DR Congo side arrived in South Africa on Sunday for a 10-day camp before coming to the country for the first leg billed for February 11 at Somhlolo National Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm. The AS Vita friendly match is scheduled for Friday.

As Vita are going to display local international players Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo and Felix Badenhorst.
According to their official facebook page, the team travelled to South Africa with 24 players and they were set to play another friendly last night with an unconfirmed team.

“A friendly game is planned tomorrow against a team and then a second test will be the next Friday against Orlando Pirates. A group of 24 players travelled for a course of 10 days in South Africa,” a statement read.
Only two players are missing from the squad and they include Serbia Alongo Tshibola and Ngoy Emomo who failed to secure a visa.Meanwhile, Royal Leopard Director Mxolisi Dlamini said they are also seeking some friendly game with South African teams and they are waiting for a response.

“For the next two weeks we don’t have any domestic game and we have to keep the players active. We are planning to play one or two highly profiled matches ahead of the clash to prepare the squad. We have sent some requests to the team and we hope they will respond positively,” he said.

Dlamini said their main challenge with playing in such tournament is lack of finances.
