RED CARD A MAJOR LET-DOWN TO US – MARUWA

NHLANGAN0 – Mbabane Highlanders mentor Hebert Maruwa believes the red card given to Mohammed Sabella was a major blow for them.

The Zimbabwean coach made these observations during a post match interview after seeing his side go down 1-2 to Premier League rookies Tambuti at King Sobhuza Memorial Stadium yesterday.

“We played very well but we started losing it when Mohammed was given marching orders. It really affected my game plan and it was hard making a swift change with one man down,” Maruwa said.
He further said it was hard to change things with just three days at the helm of the ‘Bull’ but he was hopeful that they would bounce back especially in the league.

Meanwhile, winning coach Alou Badara said his strategy worked.
“My game plan was to close them down before they could build up any meaningful scoring opportunities and it worked as Highlanders had no shot at goal in the first half. I applaud my boys for sticking to the game plan,” said Badara with excitement written all over his face.

When asked which opponent he wished to face in the last four, he stated that he was ready for anyone.
“This is a knockout tournament, anything can happen so yah I am going to prepare and hopefully we will advance to the finals,” said the Tambuti mentor.

Ugochukwe Ohakwe and Gabriel Goshen scored the goals for the sugar belt side while Menzi Sithole scored the solitary goal for the capital city giants.
