MBABANE – Nigeria-born goalkeeper Roman Igidimba could be a possible replacement of agile shot-stopper, Mbongeni Motsa.

Reports suggest Igidimba, 20, is one of several goalkeepers fighting to step in to the shoes of the departed Motsa, who left Wanderers under unclear circumstances two days ago. The junior goalkeeper is already training with the ‘Weslians’ with the hope of donning the side’s maroon and white colours next month (January 5) when the second window registration period opens.

Johannesburg-based DR Congo agent, who is identified as Allen, is facilitating the reportedly lithe goalkeeper’s move to Wanderers. He also brought lanky Ivory Coast-born forward, Danny Zabo, to Wanderers at the beginning of the campaign.
The agent confirmed the latest developments, saying the goal-minder was very good.

Wanderers General Manager, Patrick Gamedze, confirmed the presence of the player but was quick to say a decision to sign him was yet to be taken.
“The goalkeeper is one of trialists at the team.

“During the January window registration period, we usually headhunt players. However, we’ll assess all the players trying their luck and then we’ll take it from there,” said Gamedze.
Coach Julius Takupewa, who is part of the Manzini Wanderers technical bench, felt he Igidimba looked promising but said he was not sure if he was ready for the Premier League.

“He is still young. He looks good,” said the Zimbabwe-born gaffer.
