MBABANE – A day before tomorrow’s anticipated Y’ello Sunday, daggers are already out between the PLS and Manzini Wanderers over sitting arrangement.

In fact, the hub giants who are hosting Royal Leopard in the triple header whose main attraction will the capital city derby between Mbabane Swallows against sworn rivals Mbabane Highlanders, have refused to vacate their usual grandstand which the PLS has allocated to Swallows for the day.

Wanderers are not ready to move an inch from the main grandstand on the right hand side of the Royal Box which Swallows also use. Instead, the hub giants have suggested to the PLS that Swallows should move their rivals Mbabane Highlanders from the main stand.
Club General Manager Patrick Gamedze said that the despite that their Media and Communications Officer Senzo Dlamini announced on national radio yesterday morning that they would sit where the PLS has put them, the club has not accepted the decision.

“There are penalties in football so our PRO had to announce it because the PLS called the previous night to tell us that instruction but there had been no negotiation or agreement with us. Our directors have not accepted the arrangement and we can’t blame them because this competition has rules that are clear about hosting rights.
“Swallows may have moved from the stand in the Charity Cup but all the competitions have their own rules and this one is clear about the issue at hand. We’ve asked the directors to negotiate with the PLS based on the rules because we’re also hosting Leopard while Swallows host Highlanders,” the team’s General Manager Patrick Gamedze said.

He did not deny they told the PLS to consider Swallows moving their opponents to occupy the main stand as opposed to taking Wanderers to the further stand adjacent to Parliament. He also made it clear they were not giving up the fight yet but currently the situation was as announced by their PRO.

PLS COO Pat Vilakati confirmed the matter but said as far as their office was concerned, Wanderers agreed to move.
“These two teams have been sharing the stand so last time it was used by Wanderers during Charity Cup so it’s now Swallows’ turn. We had discussed this with Gamedze at Wanderers but he has informed us their directors were furious and not content with the arrangement,” Vilakati said.
