MBABANE – Hub giants Manzini Wanderers have engaged the second gear in readiness for Sunday’s much anticipated Swazi Telecom Charity Cup showdown with Mbabane Swallows.

The two teams will meet in the second semi-final of the one-day extravaganza billed for Somhlolo National Stadium.
Wanderers will unleash four international players, Zimbabwean duo of Frank Makarati and Tafadzwa, Borigi from Mozambique and Isaac Mwanza from Zambia.

The players are training with the maroon and white giants at their Trade Fair Ground training base and are joined by Ghanaian striker Aladeon Kola, who signed a one year contract on Tuesday evening. The team’s General Manager, Patrick Gamedze, said though the players’ respective international clearances had been received, they were still finalising their registration with the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) in time for Sunday.

Wanderers, seemingly, are starting on a clean slate for the new campaign after a near disastrous 2015/16 season, giving the trio of trusted talisman Sidumo Shongwe, versatile midfielder Mthokozisi Nkambule and utility player Gcina ‘Kwere’ Mazibuko free clearances to join teams of their choice.

Mthokozisi has found a new home with Swallows, ironically, Wanderers’ opponents on Sunday.
Coach Julius Chakupewa said despite the sudden smoke surrounding his eligibility to coach in the country, as he allegedly does not possess the required CAF B Licence, he was unfazed and looking forward to his official debut for the country’s arguably most supported side.
