MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows are racing against time to have six of their injured players ready for the CAF Champions League first leg match against APR FC from Rwanda.

The match is billed for Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday, Valentine’s Day (February 14). The players are Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, Sifiso Mabila, Xolani ‘Tyson’ Magagula, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza and Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze.

The trio of ‘Sikhali’, ‘D4D’ and ‘Nkomishi’ suffered knocks in Saturday afternoon’s SwaziBank Cup clash against Amalanda played at Somhlolo.
Swallows won the game 2-1 courtesy of goals from Sandile Hlatshwako and Felix Badenhorst.
Fans will pay E40 to watch the encounter.

Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana confirmed yesterday that they were facing a challenge ahead of the game because of the injuries. He said they were closely monitoring the players if they would be ready to fight for the club and country on Sunday.

“Three of our players suffered injuries on Saturday and our medical staff is still assessing the seriousness of the injuries. We are hoping that they will recover on time and be ready for the game,” he said.
Manana said the duo of ‘Sikhali’ and ‘D4D’ were substituted on Saturday due to injuries while Nkomishi was limping after the match.

Manana said Tony, who has been laid off for over two months, was working on his fitness ahead of the clash. Manana said the Sihlangu captain started full training last week and they hope he would be fit and ready to face APR.

Meanwhile, Manana said they were yet to confirm if they would play friendly matches ahead of the APR match. He said time was against them to organise friendly matches but they were yet to meet.
