LOBAMBA – Wasteful Mbabane Highlanders brushed aside a hapless City Warriors by 5-0 to reach the last 16 of the SwaziBank Cup.

Phenomenal youngster, Lungelo Tsabedze, was the hero, netting a record four goals to star for the capital city giants at a nearly packed Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday.
The young forward set the tone for his side’s flawless outing with a tap in from close range after he was set up by overlapping full-back Celani Shongwe in the fourth minute.

However, former Bad Boys forward Mohammed Sabella, had a debut he would quickly like to forget as he ensured the boisterous black and white’s ensemble’s faithful endured a frustrating opening half. They had not added to their tally at the break.
The two-time champions managed to ‘put their house in order’, playing with intent after the re-start  while the Lubombo Super League side faded with each passing minute as they failed to match the opposition even physically.

Lungelo was back to double the advantage when he burst into the box from a quick attack in the 50th minute. He was celebrating a hat-trick two minutes later as he tapped in a Patrick Meso cross from the right wing.
Warriors looked to have thrown down their weapons after the hour mark while Highlanders remained in the ascendancy.

Substitute Mpucuko Dlamini, who replaced Meso, beat an offside trap and flipped the ball over oncoming goalkeeper Ncedo Mamba who was off his line to make the game beyond the minnows’ reach.
Highlanders were not done yet, with Lungelo connecting a pass from Banele Manyatsi in the box to complete the rout two minutes from time.
The sound of referee, Wandile ‘Mancane’ Magagula’s final whistle ensured that the two-time champions marched to the second round in style. They had beaten another Shiselweni side, KoNtshingila, by the same scoreline in the first round during the last instalment of the tournament.
