SIHLANGU ABOVE AVERAGE IN FIFA RANKING HISTORY

MBABANE – National team Sihlangu are above average in their current 131st place in the history of the FIFA World ranking.

The national team’s average position since ranking creation is 143 and despite a good 2015 run- the Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga charges were unable to beat the team’s best ranking of 99 attained in 1993. Sihlangu’s worst ranking was 186 in 2013.  Sihlangu recorded their best win in the past year, away in Djibouti winning 6-0 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier. However, the gallant squad was eliminated 2-0 on aggregate by Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the next round.

‘Madze’ and his charges currently lead Group L of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after two games. They are in the same pool as Zimbabwe- their next opponents in March, Guinea and Malawi.
