KENNY NDLAZI ‘ON ICE’ FOR HIS OWN SAFETY

MBABANE – Embattled Manzini Wanderers coach Kenny Ndlazi has been stopped from training the club for his own safety.
For two days running the South Africa-born mentor has not drilled the club in readiness for tomorrow’s MTN League match against Mbabane Midas City at Manzini Club. Instead, assistant Clement Clay Mdluli and Bongani Dladla drilled the team.
The club PRO, Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini, could only confirm that Ndlazi has not been training the club since reports that a section of the supporters went to their training base at Voctim on Wednesday.
“The coach did not come to training and his assistants took over the preparation for the Midas City game. But about the fate of the coach you can contact the general manager,” Dlamini said.
Ndlazi had earlier in the day yesterday said the problem in the team was not the coach but something that Wanderers people knew and could solve.
“I can confirm that I have not been to training even today because I was told to stay away for my own safety. I have been waiting the whole day to be given the go ahead to go and train the team, but nothing has been said. I can’t go there because the reasons were around my safety,” he said.
The coach refused to elaborate on his current stand-off with a section of the supporters in the club who have openly said they wanted him out of the club during their visit to the training ground on Wednesday afternoon.
Efforts to get General Manager Patrick Gamedze proved futile last night as he was said to be locked in a meeting with directors.
