MATSAPHA – Manzini Sundowns have appealed to the Castle Premier Challenge Cup Management Committee to make the home and away game applicable.

The club’s PRO, Muzi Matsenjwa, speaking soon after his team was drawn against the 2013 edition winners Mbabane Swallows, during a draw held at Swaziland Beverages yesterday afternoon, said they would appreciate to have the second leg played in Manzini for the benefit of their supporters.

“It is good that the tournament has home and away and we hope it will apply literally. We would like to play one of the matches at Mavuso or Manzini Club if there is a problem securing a venue. We can accommodate all of you there. We are the most hungry of all the teams because Leopard might not have won it but they just won the Charity Cup. Sundowns is the only team that everyone should pray for to win it given that it has been a while since we lifted a trophy,” he said.

The tournament’s PRO, Meshack Maseko, had told the club that the first leg would definitely be held at Somhlolo National Stadium next Sunday, but said the venue for the second leg, which will be a week later, was still to be confirmed.

Matsenjwa said the club had a lot of supporters who had difficulty going to Somhlolo especially at night and urged the MC to fixture the games during the day.

“It would be proper to have the games played during the day for our supporters to easily attend. We urge the other teams in Manzini to rally behind us as their only representative in the tournament now. It is based on that fact that we request to have the home and away format being implemented literally.”
