MBABANE – The Castle Lager Premier Challenge semi-final pairing will be known on Thursday during the draw.

The draw, according to the tournament’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Meshack Maseko, will be conducted at the Swaziland Beverages Limited premises starting at 2.30pm. The semi-finals of the exhilarating tournament are played over two legs and the first leg matches are slated for September 13 with the second leg games on September 20.

Teams that will emerge as victors on aggregate score will make it to the finals scheduled to take centre stage on Saturday, September 26.
Manzini Sundowns, Mbabane Swallows, Royal Leopard and defending champions Green Mamba are the four teams left in the winner-takes-all tournament.

Sundowns eliminated fancied Young Buffaloes 4-3 after penalty shoot-outs while Swallows saw off an impressive Red Lions 2-1 in matches played on Friday night under floodlights at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Leopard had to dig deep into their reserves of courage to brush aside Malanti Chiefs by a Mathokoza ‘Tokyo’ Tfwala solitary strike with Green Mamba seeing off Mbabane Highlanders 9-8 after sudden death penalties.

“The draw will be on Thursday at SBL starting at 2.30pm and the dates of the first and second semi-finals are September 13 and 20. The finals will be held on September 20.

“The opening games went well and the attendance was fair. We witnessed exciting games, especially the Green Mamba and Highlanders game which I must say looked like a final before the final,” Maseko said.
