MBABANE – The sponsors of the Swaziland Golf Academy, Nomads Golf Club-Swaziland as well as the Swaziland Golf Union (SGU) mourned Johannes ‘Joe’ Dlamini’s demise.

Dlamini, father to professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini, who was also founder of the Swaziland Golf Academy, recently passed on.
“It is with a great deal of sadness that the Swaziland Golf Union and The Nomads Golf Club of Swaziland announce the passing of their golf development coach Johannes Dlamini who passed away on Sunday due to natural causes.

Johannes was involved with golf development for the last 15 years under the auspices of the SGU as well as being appointed by Nomads Swaziland to run its junior development program. Johannes will be remembered for his enthusiasm and fantastic persona in dealing with golfers of all ages and was a credit to the ranks of professional golfers. On behalf of both organisations we offer our sincere condolences to his family and many friends,” said Arthur Horne, Nomads Swaziland Imm Past Captain 2015.

Dlamini held a golf teaching diploma, from the European Golf Teachers Federation, and he described as a person who was instrumental in teaching kids from a young age the art of golf. He was passionate about golf, but especially passionate of his students, and their continuous progress, starting from scratch, to becoming a golfer, getting a handicap, joining a golf club, to representing Swaziland, on the golf course, throughout the Southern African region, and abroad. His memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lobamba, on Monday at 3pm. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday after a night vigil.
