MBABANE – Part two of the much anticipated Mbabane derby is on at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.

The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) issued a fixture for week 21 of the MTN Premier League, and the match between sworn rivals Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows will be the only fixture scheduled for Sunday with the rest of the fixtures to be played on Saturday.

CAF Confederations Cup second round participants Royal Leopard, who travel to DRC on Friday, will have their game against Red Lions played next Thursday at Somhlolo National Stadium at 7pm.
PLS CEO John Mazibuko confirmed the fixtures last night, stating that the organisation was racing against time to meet the May 13 deadline for the end of the season.

The capital city derby will no doubt be the pick of the weekend given that the first round fixture had to be abandoned with eight minutes left following crowd trouble at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The two giants’ first round encounter was marred by a nasty mayhem on December 7 after fans went wild with Swallows leading 4-1.
The situation got out of control, forcing the referee to call off the tie and a protracted DC battle ensued thereafter, and over four months later, the matter has still not been resolved.

The FA Appeals Board is expected to issue a judgment on the matter.
“The league games go on this weekend save for the Red Lions versus Leopard match, which we feel has no direct bearing in either the relegation and or title race. But we will ensure that the final matches of the season will be played at the same time,” Mazibuko said.
