AS VITA HERE, VOW TO CRUSH LEOPARD

SIKHUPHE – DR Congo’s AS Vita have vowed to crush police ensemble Royal Leopard tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium tomorrow.

The two teams meet in the CAF Confederation Cup Last Round of 16 first leg clash, which is scheduled for 3pm.

AS Vita coach, Ibenge Jean Florent made it clear on arrival that they were here to finish the job. He said they would not make the mistake of underrating the local side, especially because Leopard has already booted out of the continental tournament Angola’s Pedro de Luanda.
Florent was speaking through an aid of an interpreter in Eric Ekute, a medical technologist at the Mbabane Government Hospital.

“We have to finish the job here during the first leg. It does not matter that Leopard is a closed book to us because getting information about them has proved to be impossible. We have not seen any of their videos and, unfortunately, Swazi football is not shown on TV.

“We are like blind men coming here because we have no idea how they play their football. Despite that, we are confident that we will win the clash. We are here to finish the job and nothing else,” said the 53-year-old coach, who led the DR Congo giants to the finals of last year’s continental Champions League. He made it clear that their intention is to lift the trophy this year after coming close in their last attempt. Florent said scoring away goals would be crucial for his side, as they seek to make the return leg in DR Congo a mere formality.

“We have travelled to so many countries in the past and we have been able to come back with positives results away from home. Each time we play, we aim to improve. This tournament is not different at all. After reaching the finals last year, the aim is now to win the trophy. “It is a massive project we are involved in and one we want to see to completion. We have to go past Leopard even though we will not underrate them,” he said.
