LOBAMBA – Sihlangu coach, Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga has conceded that the goalkeeping department is giving the technical bench sleepless nights.

Bulunga, speaking shortly after watching his players succumb to a 1-3 defeat against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in an international preparatory game played at Somhlolo National Stadium last night, said they needed to work on the few departments that were giving them problems immediately if they were to impress in the COSAFA Cup.

“Today the players played well. In fact we matched South Africa tactically but we conceded soft goals. We were, however, able to take a few positives from the game. The goalkeeping department is really one that is giving us challenges and we need to sort it out as a matter of urgency.“Today (yesterday) we were happy, for instance, that Sifiso Mabila played very well in the right back position despite that this is not his natural position.

“We had to ask him in the morning whether he could play at right back. We need natural right backs for the team and the moment we do not have any,” said the retired midfield maestro.

His opposite at Bafana Bafana, Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba noted that Sihlangu is improving and gave his team a tough game.
‘‘We are very grateful to the Swazi FA for accepting our challenge. We got what we wanted from this game and we knew that Sihlangu would come hard at us. “This they did but they then lost concentration and we put our experience to good use.
