MBABANE – Long-serving Mbabane Swallows official Bongani ‘Under Control’ Mamba has severed ties with the capital city giants.

He was the appointed Board of Directors secretary. His departure from the red and white glamour giants was confirmed by both parties yesterday.
“Please take notice that time has come for me to grow outside the level of a club and to put my energy in serving the country.

I gained massive experience from the supporters, management, the board and elders of the team as the bullet-vest for the entire ensemble. It has been rewarding serving this great and oldest team,” part of Mamba’s statement reads.

Mamba, who joined Swallows as PRO  10 years ago from former elite league side Ubombo Flyers, now plying their trade in the Lubombo Super League, pledged his loyalty to the team despite the latest development.

“I remain a Bird for life but my scope has to be national going forward. This is a semi-voluntary decision,” the statement reads.
Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana confirmed the matter.

“The right people to comment on this, however, would be the team’s directors because as you are well aware, Mamba was serving in the board of directors. Better contact the chairman, who would be in the right position to say something,” was all Manana could say.
Efforts to reach the Swallows Chairman of the Board of Directors Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze were in vain yesterday. He was reportedly locked in a series of meetings for the better part of the day.

Mamba was not in the Swallows delegation that travelled to Ndola, Zambia over the past weekend for the team’s Champions League second leg clash against Zambia’s double champions Zesco United.
