MBABANE – With just over a week before they embark on a dream to conquer Africa, Royal Leopard yesterday received a big shot in the arm from SwaziBank - ‘The bank with a heart’.

The financial institution, as per the agreement it has with the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) and the PLS, handed over a cheque of E50 000 to Leopard by virtue of them being last year’s SwaziBank Cup champions so that they could use the funds to polish up the team before the continental competition.

Over and above that, the bank also donated Nike sports bags, tracksuits, water bottles and caps to the police outfit, a donation that according to SwaziBank PRO Phesheya Vilakati, amounted to E80 000.

This then brought the total amount of the entire donation to E130 000.
Leopard will be facing South Africa’s Bidvest Wits on Valentine’s Day in Johannesburg in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage.

The items and the cheque were presented to Leopard Chairman Mxolisi ‘Master’ Dlamini and PRO Frank Hurube by MD Zakhele Lukhele, in the presence of NFAS CEO Frederick Mngomezulu and PLS CEO John Mazibuko yesterday during a brief presentation ceremony held at the institution’s boardroom.

Lukhele then wished Leopard well and advised them to be true ambassadors of Swaziland.
“We are making this contribution towards a successful competition. We expect positive results and that you will be good ambassadors for the country by exhibiting good sportsman behaviour.”
