MANZINI – Currently placed second from the bottom of the MTN Premier League log, Manzini Sea Birds’ coach Van Rooyen Magagula is not giving up in the relegation fight.

After his charges went down 3-1 to Manzini Wanderers on Friday night at the Mavuso Sports Centre, he was adamant they were not going to be relegated. “We may have lost to Wanderers but the score is not a true reflection of the game as we matched them and got our chances. They scored soft goals which were also quick but this isn’t the end, we’ll push to finish in top eight,” he said. He was confident that they would get out of the relegation zone in the nine games they have left and also make the top eight.

His Wanderers’ counterpart Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini whose side has scored eight goals in the last two games, was ecstatic over the result. “It’s a great result for us as we’ve always played well but got nothing. We’re winning now but I still have to ensure we improve our speed and defence as we got exposed there,” he said. He said they were currently not concerned about competing for honours but working on the team, making it a formidable side then the rest would come by itself.
