SIX EUROPEAN-BASED STARS TO FACE SIHLANGU

MBABANE – The local senior national team Sihlangu will not have it easy against Orange AFCON 2015-bound Burkina Faso, who has at least six players plying their trade in top European leagues in their team.


Sihlangu will tackle Burkina Faso, who are 2013 AFCON finalists, in January.
The game will be played at the state-of-the-art Mbombela Stadium.


It is not the first meeting between the two countries as Sihlangu was walloped 4-0 in 2012 in a game played at the Kwanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.


 ‘The Stallions’  Head Coach Paul Put has picked a very strong team consisting of at least six top players plying their trade in the Spanish La Liga, French League 1, Netherlands premier league, as well as in the united Arab Emirates.


These are the key players, some of who boast of uefa Champions League and Europa League football experience.
Among these star players is 19-year-old Chelsea striker Bertrand Traoré who was loaned out to Netherlands club Vitesse Arnhem for the season.


There is also defender Bakari Koné who plays for Olympique Lyon in France and has played in the Euefa Champions League as well as the Europa League.


He is with defender Steeve Yago who is at Toulouse also in League 1, and 25-year-old forward Jonathan Zongo who plies his trade in the La Liga at Almeria.


Another notable member is the Burkina Faso squad would be midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa who played for Hamburger SV in Germany, was also at Stade Rennes in France and now plays for Al Jazira Cl.
