MBABANE – “It has been demanding but the course was a success.” These were the words of Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta, Technical Director (TD) of the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS), after seeing through the second and last festival of the FIFA Grassroots Course yesterday morning.

The ceremony also doubled up as practical for the 30 participants, who this time, were teachers from various primary schools and it was held at Prince of Wales Ground with over 800 primary school pupils from various schools around Mbabane and surrounding arrears participating.
The children were given basic footballing skill, going from one coach to another to do different drills as the participants put theory into practice.

The course was facilitated by Mauritian FIFA Instructor Govinden Thondoo and had been running since Saturday.
Mkhonta thanked all stakeholders who supported the initiative, including government, the NFAS and certain schools who opened their premises for them to use.

He said they hoped that the schools which participated would embrace the concept and continue to develop football, while revealing that they would take the programme to other schools next year.

Meanwhile, in the grand closing ceremony, Thondoo thanked the participants for their commitment and zeal, further praising the NFAS for a different concept this year of involving primary schools and teachers.
He noted that this would be of great impact to the success of the long-term plan that would go until 2018.
