NKONYENI – Government is happy to see more women involved in sporting activities.

Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Prince Mlayeto, says the Business Woman of the Year Awards (BWYA) Golf Tournament provided a perfect platform to attract women to sports. He made the observation shortly after teeing off to mark the ninth edition of the tournament at Nkonyeni Golf Estate yesterday.

“REDI should be commended for putting the event in place.” The tournament was organised by the Regional Excellence Development Initiative. Coordinator, Dr Sikhomba Gumbi, expressed his desire to see more women on the golf course with the belief that there were business decisions made during the games.

“More women should play golf in order to avoid missing out on the business opportunities. We commend our sponsors for the continued support.” Also teeing off was Director of Sports Sipho Magagula, who inspired the over 20 golfers on the greens.
The event was sponsored by Macmillan Swaziland, Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC), Swaziland Electricity Company and Galp.
