MBABANE – A man has set alight a police officer’s vehicle before confiscating his uniform after he allegedly found the officer with his wife. The drama unfolded at Khutsala near Siteki on Saturday.

The officer involved in the drama is based at Siteki Police Station and he holds the rank of constable.
Sources said the man works and resides around Matsapha and on the day in question he had returned home unexpectedly.
It is alleged that the man had been tipped off by informants about the alleged affair between his wife and the police officer.
A source said the man failed to control his anger when he found the officer’s vehicle parked outside the main house.

The source said the man repeatedly banged the door and demanded that the wife reveals the man she was with inside the house.
“But the wife hid the officer in the pantry before letting his husband in. Upon entering the house, an argument ensued between the couple resulting in the wife confessing that the officer was indeed inside the house.

“The officer then came out of the pantry and tried to reason with the husband,” said the source.
Upon seeing the police officer, the enraged man is said to have stormed out of the house and went to the officer’s vehicle where he reportedly sprinkled the vehicle with what is believed to be petrol before setting it alight.

The officer’s vehicle is a Mazda van whose value could not be ascertained by the time of compiling the report. Sources said the man later returned to the house and confiscated the officer’s cellphone and work uniform.

Assault

According to the police, the man did not assault either the wife or the police officer.
Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Khulani Mamba confirmed the incident.
Mamba said Siteki police have since opened an inquiry to establish what exactly transpired during the incident.
He further stated that, as of yesterday, no charges had been preferred against the husband.

“We saw it appropriate to open an inquiry file rather than laying charges since we first need to understand what exactly transpired,” said Mamba.
Both the man and his wife could not be reached for comment since their cellphones were switched off.

Also, the police officer’s phone was off when called several times since Tuesday.
On another note, KaLanga Umphakatsi Headman Solomon Mbingo said the matter had not been reported to the inner council.

It serves the police officer right to lose his asset over lust. Cheats, especially with married people, should feel the pain and disturbance they cause to that family, more so if the couple has children. The sad part is that none seem to learn from such as such incidents are on the rise.

I think the journalist needs to review his/her skills: why would you want to call someone when you know quite well that his phone has been just confisticated? Hhayi khona maSwati mani!! Ngatsi nifuba kuba yidisgrace.

I think this police officer works for the government of the far West country which murders and/or facilitates the murder of innocent souls throughout the world.

The terrorist country: remember Yugoslavia, Kuwait, Libya, Korea, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Palestine, Iraq, Zimbabwe, Russia, Cuba, Mexico, AGOA endless list.

That's western democracy for you. Please tell their ambassador that Swaziland cannot be blackmailed.

Some people are just lucky. Understanding the fit of rage under such circumstances, I wonder how I can let such a dog leave with his soul. The wife can also leave forever if lucky enough. Ancestors and God reveal such hidden vices most times. Usindile Sathane, uthole lokwadliswa, nyalo kutawubhadala leliphoyisa libe likumoshile.
