MBABANE – The fiancée of incarcerated former political activist Roland Rudd, Dumisile Lushaba is receiving messages informing her that their relationship is over.

One of the messages was demanding that Lushaba should bring all the clothes belonging to Rudd that were in her possession.
The messages were sent by individuals claiming to be friends of Rudd who had been sent by him to convey the messages to Lushaba.

“Hello dear luv, I am Roland’s friend, utsi unestress bengiye kuyomhlola e Remand with my sisters’ utsi wena awuseti kutomhlola and utsi he called you wakukhandza udzakiwe and awusatihluphi ngaye .... Why are you doing this coz he needs your support and your luv and bad luck for you utsi yena he is tired of your games and ubona kutsi niyekele (sic),” reads one of the messages.

In another message, one of the senders, who also claimed to be Rudd’s friend, informed Lushaba that she must forget about him. “Oh Make Rudd bengiye kuyohlola Rudd utsi ubatse uyashaya no one answers wasinika lenombolo watsi ucela sishaye simcelele timphahla tekugcoka ngoba uwashela emtimbeni wacela kutsi ngimletsele kusasa.”

Lushaba said last Tuesday she went to check on Rudd and he confirmed having sent some people to go and fetch some clothes from her.
She alleged that she received the messages informing her that their relationship was over on Saturday.
She alleged that one of the women who sent her a message was the one who came to his place of abode at Siphocosini to demand clothes belonging to Rudd.

She said she was surprised to receive the messages because she had been with Rudd since 2010 and she still loved him.
“Although I am still confused after having received the messages, but if he has to end it then its fine. I have been checking on him ever since he was arrested,” said the sombre looking Lushaba.

She also dismissed the allegations that she was seeing another man.
Last year Rudd got engaged to Lushaba in an event that was held at the Sidwashini Correctional facility.
The function, which was supported by His Majesty’s Correctional Services, was attended by close relatives.

To show his undying love for Lushaba, Rudd dedicated a song titled ‘I swear’ by All for One.
On June 25, 2012 Rudd was admitted to bail by the High Court, which was, however, cancelled after the person who had stood as surety on his behalf, one Dickson Masuku, withdrew the suretyship,

Rudd was arrested and charged with attempted murder in June 2012 after he allegedly shot at two soldiers at an overhead bridge at Ngwenya.
He was also charged with other traffic offences.
Rudd once threatened to go on indefinite fasting in prison where he is currently kept.

His case is now towards completion and it transpired that the shooting was as a result of a road rage.
The matter is before High Court Judge Bheki Maphalala, who, at one time, was asked by the Crown to conduct an inspection in loco.
