MAN RAPED BY TWO WOMEN

NHLANGANO – A 25-year-old man has been forced to have sexual intercourse with two women at gunpoint at Mkhitsini.
The survivor lives to tell of his rare rape ordeal in the hands of the female duo, which was brandishing a gun at night.

The incident occurred in a forest along the way to Mkhitsini, about a week ago, according to the survivor  who is still traumatised by what transpired that night.

In an interview with this publication yesterday, the man, who will not be identified because he is a survivor of abuse; said he was willingly picked by two women at a bus station at Mbangweni in Nhlangano, as he was hitching a ride home.
He said two women, who are suspected to be South African, pulled over their vehicle and offered him a lift.

He said the women were driving towards the Manzini direction but they willingly obliged to take him home since it was beginning to be late.
He told this publication that the women politely asked him for his destination, and the driver nodded her head when he said he was going to Mkhitsini, indicating that they had no problem dropping him off at the place.

“They were driving in a sedan, and I was told to sit at the back seat of the car, all alone,” he said.
The survivor said the women were talking among themselves along the way, in a foreign Zulu accent, which made him suspect that they were South African.

He said they never bothered him much, and all along he said he was at ease until the women pulled the car over again, in the middle of a forest, a timber growing area.
He said he was shocked when the women changed their tune and forced him to have intercourse with them repeatedly inside the car – on the back seat.

He said he was first ordered to have sexual intercourse with the driver, while the other woman coerced him, using a gun which was pointed at his direction.
The cycle was again to repeat itself as the women changed roles, with the other handing over the gun to the first one to sleep with the man.
“At first I tried to offer them money to pay for the lift, but they said I should not bother because they had their own money,” said the survivor.

“I was told that if I valued my life, I should just stick to the orders they were giving me – they just wanted me to have intercourse with all of them.”
He said he had no choice but to take off as much clothing as was necessary, and obliged.
After the ordeal, the man said the women drove off, leaving him all alone in the wilderness; and in the still of the night.
He said the ordeal took about 30 minutes.

Shocked

“I was unable to take note of the car’s registration numbers because they drove off at high speed, while I was still shocked by what had just happened,” said the survivor.
Information gathered is that the man then dialled the police emergency line, 999, and asked for help.
Hlatikhulu police attended to the matter, and an inquiry is still on, according to Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Khulani Mamba, who acknowledged a report on the rare incident.

Mamba said this was a very shocking incident.
He, however, commended the man for his reporting of the matter, and coming out to seek help.

Mamba encouraged other men who would be abused in a similar manner to also come forward, so that they can get access to professional help.
“In the police service we now have people who are trained to attend to cases of abuse and they handle such matters with the sensitivity they deserve. So, people should not be afraid to come forward,” he said.

Rare

The deputy police spokesperson also condemned the act, saying it was rare in Swazi society for women to force men into sleeping with them against their will.

“This is very bad, and we condemn the act,” he said.
Mamba said the perpetrators were still at large.
