MANZINI – New Covenant of Jesus Christ Ministries claim to have managed to build a church worth E1.2 million through Sunday church offerings and no extra donations from the congregants.

In fact the church reportedly saved about E3 million is terms of building material and labour as it was built by members of the church who were artisans in the needed fields.

The church is led by its founder, Bishop Enoch Maseko, who is well-known for his programme that he hosts on Voice of the Church (VOC) ‘Ungatibulali ngalokwentako’ meaning don’t let your actions kill you.” The building will be dedicated to God during a service to be held within the church next Saturday and they are hoping that their guest of honour will accept their invitation and be present during the celebration.

Over 13 branches of the church both locally and in neighbouring South Africa are expected to be part of the celebrations.
“I am humbled by my congregants who all used their different skills towards the building of the church. We did not have any private donors or host special services aimed at fund-raising to build the church that we will be dedicating to God next week Saturday,” Bishop Maseko explained.

The church, which is located at Kahlobile, Matsapha is a landmark in the area. It was revealed that the church had to build a temporary structure after the tent that they usually worshipped in was blown away during rains in august 2012.

“We did not use any contractors to build this church, all the trusses and ironwork were assembled here within the church and this really saved a lot of money which we did not have at the time,” Maseko said.

He further revealed that the church will also use the dedication service to be held next Saturday to launch the start of the new vision of his church.
“No more improvements will be made to our old structure as all our efforts will now be directed to the new church building  which is expected to cost us  E34 million,” Maseko disclosed.

He showed this publication the plans for the proposed building which were drawn by Roots Construction. He mentioned that when the church had enough money, they would engage the construction company to go ahead with building the church which he termed the New Covenant of Jesus Christ Ministries’ 2022 vision.
