MAHLANYA – two children died tragically and one was critically injured when a wall collapsed on them.
Sarafina Busika (69) is the owner of the house whose wall collapsed.

The deceased have been identified as Sisana Tfwala, 16 months old, and Wakhile Sibandze. Sibandze was 21 months old.
Lwazi Masuku, three years old, is currently battling for his life at the Mbabane Government Hospital where he is admitted.
The ghastly incident occurred at the Busika homestead at Mahlanya under Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency.
Marwick Khumalo is the Member of Parliament for Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency.

In an interview yesterday, Gogo Sarafina said the tragedy struck immediately after lunch on Monday.
She confessed to be living an impoverished life, saying her husband died 36 years ago.

The elderly woman said the two-room house made of clay soil bricks was left by her deceased husband.
She said she was heavily indebted to government for the elderly grants, adding that it was presently her only source of income.
“Part of the wall of the house has been unstable,” she narrated while fighting back tears.
“It has been wobbly for months.”

She mentioned that she tried hard to renovate the wall by patching it (kubhadza), but it unfortunately failed her on Monday.
“I was inside the house to prepare a feeding bottle for Sisana when I saw part of the wall falling heavily,” she reminisced vividly.
She said she bolted outside.

Busika said she was met by hysterical screams of the critically injured Lwazi.
Lwazi, as per the distraught Busika, sustained critical head injuries after part of the wall fell on top of his head.
The elderly woman said she suspected her unsuspecting grandchildren were following each other in a fashion similar to ducks when the wall collapsed on them. She mentioned that the deceased infants were trapped under the debris.
She repeatedly blamed the family tragedy to the poor structure of the house which had three huge cracks on the walls.

Parents of the deceased infants, according to Busika, were at work when the tragedy struck.
Superintendent Wendy Hleta, the Police PRO, yesterday confirmed the deaths.
