BUSINESSMAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE FRAUD CASES

MANZINI - A Manzini Businessman who is out on bail for allegedly counterfeiting government documents had been arrested for allegedly committing similar offences. 


Jabulani Tsambokhulu (45) of Malkerns was arrested on Friday at Manzini Bus Rank and was charged with five counterfeit related charges.
In the first count, he was charged for allegedly forging a government document, a Road Transportation Permit trading as Emantimandze Transport while on the second count he was charged for allegedly counterfeiting another government document, a certificate of fitness no: A216858.


In the third and fourth counts, he was charged with allegedly forging a T-disc for a Toyota Kombi with registration numbers BSD 457 AM and for allegedly counterfeiting a Road Transportation Permit for another Toyota kombi with registration numbers OSD 297 AM.


The businessman appeared before Magistrate Sebenzile Ndlela on Saturday where he was officially charged with the aforesaid counts.
During his appearance, Tsambokhulu said he would be represented by a lawyer but was not present in court.


Remanded


He was remanded back to custody until today.
After the court session, the officers alerted the Prosecutor, Fakazi Mngomezulu that the accused person was out on bail for committing a similar offence.
 Mngomezulu then asked Magistrate Ndlela to have it on record that the accused person had violated his bail conditions by allegedly committing an offence similar to one he was arrested for prior.


Meanwhile, Wandile Ginindza (33) of Eteni, Matsapha, who is a kombi driver was arrested and charged with overloading with 10 passengers after he was found driving a Toyota Quantum with registration numbers CSD 558 AH loaded with 25 passengers instead of 15. He was arrested at New Village along Yithabantu Highway on Friday.


He appeared before Magistrate Sebenzile Ndlela on Saturday. During his appearance, he chose to conduct his own defence and he pleaded guilty to the charge.
The court also found him guilty as charged and as per the plea that he tendered before court.  


In mitigation, Ginindza pleaded with the court to be lenient in passing the sentence because he has a child who solely depended on him as his mother was unemployed. He was sentenced to a year in prison or pay E1 000 fine.
