LOBAMBA – The spirit of joy engulfed Her Majesty the Queen Mother yesterday as she danced her way to her seat upon arrival for the Good Friday service at the Lobamba National Church.

Excited Christians joined the Queen Mother and almost formed a circle around her as she danced and sang along.
The Indlovukazi entered the arena at about 11.30am with the song ‘Lendlela, Lendlela iyekhaya’ blurring on the loud speakers.
When time came for her to preach, the Queen Mother said “It would be painful for me to preach to you whereas I was made of nothing”.

She opened her sermon with the book of Luke 23:27-28 which reads: “A large number of people followed Him, including women who mourned and wailed for Him.  Jesus turned and said to them, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children’.
“On that day,” she continued, “we will cry to the mountains, ‘fall on us!’ and to the hills ‘cover us’.

“Seek the Lord now that He can be found. And when found, hold onto Him steadfastly. Don’t forget that the Devil was able to penetrate into Jesus’ disciples. Gathered as we are today, the Devil can penetrate this place,” Her Majesty shared.

She said, however, she had pleaded with pastors the previous day to pray earnestly for God’s protection during these Easter services.
She highlighted that as much as pastors were preaching the Word of God, the Devil was also preaching a different tune.

“Some might say the pastors are taking too long to wrap up the service. That is the preaching of the Devil. There will come a time when we reach two paths. It would be painful for me to preach to you whereas I was made of nothing,” she said.

The Queen mother also preached about forgiveness saying it was very hard for human nature to forgive.
“But Jesus came here and prepared Himself to forgive us and stand all the trials and tribulations that He went through to His death. Thank you Jesus for your mercy, thank you for taking away all our sins,” she said.

However, the Queen Mother warned Christians against taking advantage of the spirit of mercy by knowingly and purposefully indulging in sin then expect to be forgiven all over and over again each and every time.
“He called us to give unto Him our heavy york and He will give us His that is easy. We love Jesus and who wouldn’t, for a man who died on our behalf,” she wondered.

Also attending the service was Emakhosikati and Liphovela to His Majesty King Mswati III, Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini, Parliament Speaker Themba Msibi, Cabinet ministers, members of Parliament and Prince Logcogco who was seated next to the premier.
