PARLY OPENING PREPS ARE WELL UNDERWAY

LOBAMBA — Preparations for the official State Opening of Parliament are well underway.

This was confirmed by Clerk to Parliament Ndvuna Dlamini who said they were expecting that the official opening would take place next week Friday February 7, 2014.

However, he did state that the date was not confirmed as the relevant authorities were yet to make an official announcement.
Dlamini, however, said in the meantime they were making sure that they set the ball rolling to ensure that when the event did take place everything was in order given the status and magnitude of the event.

“The preparations are underway and we have already contacted the relevant stakeholders to ensure that we have a smooth opening of the First Session of the 10th Parliament,” said Dlamini.

Yesterday, a preparatory meeting was held in the House of Assembly where members of the media, technical committee, security, diplomatic service and catering staff were present.
