MBABANE – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is currently on break. This was said by Allen McFadden, the Executive Secretary of the CSC, in an interview yesterday.

McFadden said the commissioners would be back in office mid next month (January 2014).
“The break will enable the members of the commission to attend all Incwala activities and enjoy Christmas with their families,” he mentioned. “The commissioners, unlike the rest of the working class, have no leave days but have the opportunity to go on break two times per year.”
The commission took the first breather in August.

This was during the period of the annual Reed Dance (Umhlanga).
He said it was a deserved break for the commissioners, saying they really work extra hard when taking into consideration that it was responsible for the entire civil service.
The CSC, appointed by His Majesty King Mswati III, is responsible for the hiring and disciplining of civil servants – among its functions.
