MANZINI – Church structures were not spared by the heavy storm that hit the kingdom on Thursday night as it also blew down the Faith Christian Fellowship marquee.
This is the church previously owned by Apostle Jeremiah Dlamini who is now based in Mbabane.

Concrete pillars of the giant tent were swept hundreds of metres away leaving the cemented floor and stage bare.
Electronics such as computers were also not spared in the damage as power supply cables were ripped by the storm.
The torn tent was blown as high as the electricity lines bringing down the live power cables to the ground.

Pastor Muzi Myeni said the watchman who mans security at the church premises at Ngwane Park was slightly injured when the marquee blew off.
“A lot of damage was caused as you can see,” said a shocked Pastor Myeni who was found in the company of church members trying to clear the mess.
“I have never seen such a powerful storm. The blocks of concrete pillars from the cemented foundation were blown away like nothing,” he said.

Myeni could not, however, be specific on the extent of the damage in terms of costs for rebuilding the tent as South African engineers who mounted it have to be engaged.
Nonetheless, he said they would continue with their church services in the open and power will be restored for musical instruments during sermons.
“In the meantime, our watchman will be using the church car as shelter during the night,” said Pastor Myeni.
