MBABANE – At least four civil servants who failed to make it in the nomination process are now back at work in their various ministries.

This was disclosed by Evart Madlopha, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service, in an interview yesterday.
Madlopha said the aforementioned government employees immediately returned to work on Monday.

“They were not nominated over the weekend thus leaving them with no option but to file requests to have their leave of absence terminated forthwith,” he stated.
“As the employer, we granted them their wish immediately, hence they’re back at work as I’m talking to you.”
He said his portfolio was more than ready to withdraw the leave of absence granted to all the civil servants who applied for it in the event they file a request to have it lifted.

A total of 43 civil servants were last week properly granted leave of absence by government in order to contest in this year’s general elections.
The elections process kick-started with the nomination process last weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in the various chiefdoms and polling centres.
Madlopha then wished the civil servants who were nominated the best of luck, saying they were most welcome to return to work in the event they crash out during the Primary elections in a fortnight’s time (August 24, 2013).
