MONENI – Outgoing MP Thandi Nxumalo believes she will make it back to Parliament as she had met the constituents’ expectations.

When Nxumalo’s name was called by the Elections and Boundaries Commission’s (EBC) returning officer, Mlondolozi Dlamini, a huge number of people screamed and ran to where the registration was taking place carrying their cards.

“The response proved that I represented my constituency well and I had not expected that the people would respond the way they did. I am also confident and proud of what has just happened and it shows that I delivered and did what I was expected to do,” Nxumalo said.

When asked if she thought she would make it this time around, the outgoing Member of Parliament said she was positive that she would be chosen as an MP.
Also nominated under the Manzini South Constituency was former Moneni Indvuna and Umgijimi, Pitoli Shabangu (64) who said his advantage was the fact that he was well known in the area as he had served as Indvuna for two terms.

“If the people have decided that they need me as their MP, then I am going for it. Whether I make it or not I would still be obligated to their needs,” Shabangu said.
