It's now official: Nothando
MBABANE – It’s now official, Indvuna of the Imbali regiment, Nothando Nhlengetfwa, is wife to the Commissioner of His Majesty’s Correctional Services, Isaiah Mzuthini Ntshangase.
Traditionally and culturally, Nhlengetfwa has assumed the surname Ntshangase after she finally married the commissioner whom she had been affianced to since last year.
The imbali leader was on Saturday wedded by the commissioner through the Swazi Law and Custom (kuteka) at Mkhwakhweni.
She was tekaed and officially introduced to the Ntshangases before given to the elders to teach her the ‘Ntshangase traditions’ (imihambo nemasiko akaNtshangase).
The commissioner yesterday confirmed that he had traditionally wed the Imbali leader. He said "it’s true that ngimutekile (traditionally wedded) Nothando. She is now officially my wife and she was also introduced as a member of the Ntshangase family,"
Ntshangase said both his family and that of the Imbali leader would soon meet to discuss ilobolo (payment of dowry). Asked what type of wedding ceremony they would prefer, Ntshangase said they would have a traditional ceremony.
"Kutophuma umtsimba," Ntshangase said.
Meanwhile, Nothando expressed her excitement at the latest development.
"I am very excited about my marriage with the commissioner. It is every woman’s dream to get married. It is a blessing and I thank God for such a wonderful man like Ntshangase," she said last night.
