MBABANE- Problems prone Swaziland Airlink has a competitor.

However, the difference is that the competitor is operating on the road while Swaziland Airlink operates in the air.

A new shuttle company has opened shop. It provides shuttle services to people going on business or leisure trips in South Africa and those connecting flights at the Oliver Tambo International Airport.

The company known as SiyeSwatini is likely to be viewed by many as a good and reliable alternative after the endless problems faced by Airlink that have led to its passengers missing their connecting flights or being grossly inconvenienced.

SiyeSwatini’s Operations Manager Tusa Mamba made it clear that his company had no ambition of competing with Airlink, but was merely formed to assist Swazis travelling mostly to South Africa.

"One of our goals is to provide shuttle services to Swazis travelling to selected places in South Africa. On top of that, our intention is to invade the tourism field where we felt Swaziland is losing a lot," he said.

However, Mamba was not ashamed to disclose that his company provides most of the things people would get when flying and the ultimate goal is to offer more to their customers. "It is appropriate to call this a flight on wheels," he said. "The founder of the business travels a lot and it may have occurred that such services are needed in Swaziland to shuttle people to connect their flights," he added. Places the company services in South Africa include the OR Tambo International Airport, Sandton, Kruger Park (Crocodile Gate), Witbank (Highveld Mall) and Nelspruit (Riverside Mall).

"Our mission is to efficiently provide accurate information and access to Swaziland tourism as well as efficient, secure, comfortable and reliable luxury transport with impeccable customer service. We aim to ultimately fulfil all tourism related needs," stated Mamba.

Mamba said his company did not operate in the same way as the interstate kombis that wait until they are full before they leave.

"Even if there is one person booked for travel we go ahead with the trip because our interest is seeing them moving from point A to point B. Take for instance today (Thursday), the shuttle left for Nelspruit with one person. We were not going to cancel his booking because he is alone," he said.

He invited members of the public to make use of his company.
