SWAYOCO member slapped with six bombings charges
MBABANE – The member of proscribed political group SWAYOCO, Bhekumusa Dlamini, is alleged to be responsible for six of the recent bombings.
Dlamini a 27-year-old man from Mpofu area in the Hhohho region has since been charged with six counts of Terrorism. He is alleged to have contravened section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008.
Dlamini was rounded up by police on Thursday morning while in his flat at Mhlaleni. He is said to have planted petrol bombs in four police officers’ houses as well as two Members of Parliament.
Dlamini’s arrest was one of many in the police breakthroughs in the recent bombings that have rocked the country. He has been co-charged with Zonke Thokozani Dlamini (37) from Ekwendzeni area.
Zonke was arrested last week and he made an appearance before Justice Nkululeko Hlophe on Sunday at the High Court. The two appeared before Justice Hlophe for a remand hearing at the High Court yesterday.
Zonke faces two counts, while Bhekumusa faces four others. Bhekumusa was represented by Bhekisisa Zwane and crown prosecutor was Sikhumbuzo Fakudze. Zonke did not have legal representation.
On the first count, they are alleged to have petrol bombed a house belonging to Police Public Relations Officer Senior Superintendent Vusi Masuku on May 25, 2010. The incident is said to have happened at Masuku’s home at Ebenezer in the Shiselweni region.
They are also alleged to have contravened the act in that on June 7, 2010 at Kontshingila area they planted a petrol bomb at Mtsambama Member of Parliament Bheki Mkhonta’s residence. They are said to have been acting together with common purpose and placed a petrol bomb in a Mkhonta’s house with the intention to cause damage to property. They are also alleged to have had an intention to induce fear of injury to Mkhonta’s life and his children.
Bhekumusa Dlamini is alleged to have on the same day planted a petrol bomb in Mayiwane MP David ‘Lion’ Shongwe’s home at Mpofu area in the Hhohho region. He is also said to have placed another petrol bomb in a police officer, Mathokoza Dlamini’s home at Ebuhleni area in the Hhohho region. The incident is claimed to have happened on May 13, 2010.
On May 26, 2010, the accused, Bhekumusa Dlamini, is said to have continued with his escapades and petrol bombed at a Dlamini homestead at Nkwalini. The home is said to be belonging to a police officer Joshua Dlamini. An alternative charge of having an intention to induce fear of injury to Dlamini’s life and children as well as damage to property has been stated.
The two accused appeared before Justice Nkululeko Hlophe for a remand hearing. He remanded them into custody pending trial. He ordered that they should return to court on June 25, 2010.
…another cop’s house was bombed
MBABANE – It has since emerged that banned entity SWAYOCO member Bhekumusa Dlamini bombed another police officer’s house at eZulwini area.
This is Dlamini’s sixth count, which he has been charged with. He is alleged to have placed a petrol bomb in police officer Roy Consalvez’s house on May 22, 2010. Dlamini was arrested by police while in his room at Mhlaleni on Thursday morning. He made an appearance in court yesterday where he was remanded into custody until June 25, 2010, pending setting of a trial date.
Dlamini came to court under the escort of plain clothed police. He was wearing a grey coat and blue jeans. He is said to be an ex-University of Swaziland student.

Accused one and two (Zonke and Bhekumusa Dlamini) are guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon May 25, 2010 at or near Ebenezer area in the Shiselweni region, they each or both, acting jointly in common purpose did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to Vusi Masuku, a police officer with the intention of causing damage or injury.2. Accused One and two (Zonke and Bhekumusa Dlamini) are guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon June 7, 2010 at or near Kontshingila area in the Shiselweni region, they each or both, acting jointly in common purpose did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to Bheki Mkhonta, a member of Parliament with the intention of causing damage or injury.
3. Bhekumusa Dlamini is guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon June 7, 2010 at or near Mpofu area in the Hhohho region, did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to David ‘Lion’ Shongwe, a Member of Parliament with the intention of causing damage or injury.
4. Bhekumusa Dlamini is guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon May 13, 2010 at or near Ebuhleni area in the Hhohho region, did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to Mathokoza Dlamini, a police officer with the intention of causing damage or injury.
5. Bhekumusa Dlamini is guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon May 26, 2010 at or near Nkwalini area in the Hhohho region, did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to Joshua Dlamini, a police officer with the intention of causing damage or injury.
6. Bhekumusa Dlamini is guilty of contravening section 5 (3c) of the Terrorism Act of 2008 in that upon May 22, 2010 at or near Ezulwini area in the Hhohho region, did wrongfully and unlawfully place a parcel, substance or thing to wit a petrol bomb in a house belonging to Roy Consalvez, a police officer with the intention of causing damage or injury.
