MBANGWENI- Inkhosatana yeMbali Princess Sakhizwe yesterday gave maidens courage, as she braved the cold and heavy rain during  the solo dance (kugiya).

The heavy rain poured immediately after the princess took the centre stage, however, she continued to dance unabated. The princess waved her stick and turned around to  give  and seemingly also  receive  courage from  the maidens. Those close to shelters started moving in while those with coats put them on but the princess and maidens were not discouraged by the rain ,which was accompanied by  chilly wind. The princess was appreciated by her brothers before emakhosikati.

She was then joined by sigodlo which danced together with former South Africa President and uMkhonto WeSizwe leader Jacob Zuma’s daughter Nomcebo Zuma, who was adorned with emagwalagwala. Emakhosikati appreciated Zuma’s daughter before they returned to their seats. However, even though shivering in cold, some of those in attendance joined the maidens as they enjoyed the recorded songs.
