MAN FOUND DEAD WITH HEAD BURIED IN SAND

EZULWINI - An unknown man has been found dead with his head buried in the sand at Nyonyane in Ezulwini.

A blue Mazda Demio with local registration plates was parked a few metres from the lifeless body. Worth noting is that the motor vehicle was parked a footstep from the public road.
However, it could not be immediately ascertained if the deceased had anything to with the motor vehicle as police investigations are ongoing. Information gathered was to the effect that the corpse was discovered by a herdboy who was looking after livestock in the area.  It is said the herdboy noted that one of the cattle was sniffing around a particular area and when he went to investigate, he found the corpse. Upon arrival at the scene, police officers were found recording statements from the herdboy and independent witnesses, while awaiting officers from the Scenes of Crime Department. Enyonyane community police members and some community members were gathered at the scene.

Dumped

The blue Mazda Demio was still parked at the same spot, while the corpse was dumped at the bottom of the heap of soil next to Makhondvolwane River. The head was buried on the loose soil. Upon searching the corpse, the police officers discovered about E50 inside the man’s pocket. The police officers also discovered different shoe laces with different colours inside the man’s pocket. The deceased was wearing blue trousers, blue T-shirt and black shoes. When pulled out from the soil, blood oozed from his nostrils. However, there were no visible injuries.
The corpse was loaded into the police van, while the motor vehicle was driven to Lobamba Police Station, where it was parked pending investigations.

Some residents stated that people were used to parking cars at the area. They stated that many people passed by without suspecting anything. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed a report of a man who was found dead at Nyonyane in Ezulwini. Vilakati said investigation were ongoing.
