MBABANE - “I was simply preaching the Word of God without provoking anyone.”

This was said by Hosana Outreach Ministries Church Apostle Madudu Mabuza after social media criticism and threats following his sermon which caused a stir during the Year-End Thanksgiving Prayer Service held at Mandvulo Grand Hall on Saturday. Some social media users did not receive well the apostle’s preaching that kings were anointed and appointed by God and were never voted to the throne and that the current wave shall pass.
It should be noted that the man of God never made reference to any activity apart from saying; ‘this thing shall pass.’ Asked if he had personally received any threats from anyone, the man of God responded to the negative. He stated that he heard from those who were active on social media about the threats and criticism.

Unfortunate

He said it was unfortunate that some people analysed things from a different perspective yet in his case, it was purely the Word of God taken from the scripture. He stated that he never made reference to any activity conducted by anyone when speaking ‘of a wave that shall pass’. He said he referred to situations that other kings went through when he said everything would come to pass, as there was no permanent situation. “If anyone feels I should die for speaking the Word of God, I am prepared to die for it, but let him or her not kill my mother, children or any of my relatives,” he said. The social media threats started circulating before the end of the prayer session.

However, the man of God was not aware as he said he was not on social media, in particular Facebook, where the threats and criticism were carried by one of the online publications. “Anyone who was present at the service can agree with me that I simply preached the Word of God without provoking anyone. I never condoned the King for anything or accused any person or political party for any action,” he said. The clergyman stated that his sermon was aligned to the scripture. He reminded the nation that he was specific about three things when preaching. He said in the first aspect, he advised the King to learn from King Hezekiah who made an individual’s decision without influence from his advisors, family and friends during trying times.

Mabuza said King Hezekiah took a letter, which Sennacherib had written to intimidate him and instill fear to the pulpit in the House of the Lord.
The man of God stated that Hezekiah told God that the enemy had written a direct letter to him and God decided to do something about it. “Your Majesty, maybe it is time you personally take up this matter with God. “He is waiting for you and only you can challenge Him to assist the nation. God respects kings; He is not like the people who speak anyhow to the King, He appreciates and loves kings and each time a king comes to Him, He stops and listens,” Mabuza was quoted saying. He stated that by quoting the scripture, he wanted to demonstrate that the King had no other source of solution expect from God. He stated that he also advised the King to scrutinise his advisors and the advices. He also said he advised the King to see what he did with the advice from his advisors.

Solution

“I also advised the King to engage prophets for a solution during such trying times. I quoted the scripture, where it says kings used to consult prophets who took the message from God and relayed it to them. I used a diplomatic and matured way to unpack the scripture,” he said. Worth noting was that the man of God would repeatedly say; “I did not mention a name of any individual.” However, he stated that those who had conducted themselves like Achan knew themselves. Achan was a warrior who betrayed Joshua and the nation of Israel by taking spoils in the Jericho war when God had instructed them not to take any.
