SITEKI – Dvokodvweni Member of Parliament (MP) Mduduzi Magagula has indicated that about 300 households also want to be compensated after being left out of the exercise.

Magagula stated that he had not been informed about the issue of over 40 ‘ghost households’ that benefitted during the first phase of the compensation exercise. “I am not aware about the ‘ghost households’ that were part of those who got paid. I am only aware of 300 families that submitted a list and complained that their houses were also damaged but were left out,” he said. The MP said he advised the 300 families to elect a committee and submit their list at the Malindza umphakatsi. “The list will be attended to by the umphakatsi and inkhundla council. There are also three families who were erroneously left out and they have to be paid in the next phase,” Magagula said.
