ALLEGED THIEF STABS FRIEND 16 TIMES, CUTS OFF PRIVATE PARTS

EMVEMBILI – When police officers were questioning a man who had stolen from a diplomat’s house, the alleged thief dropped a bombshell.

*Jomo, who is alleged to have broken into the house of a diplomat based in Mozambique, made a confession that turned the housebreaking interrogation into a murder investigation. He told the police officers that he had killed his friend and cut off his private parts. The incident is said to have happened around Emvembili. Police officers learnt about the break-in on Saturday and tracked down Jomo after he was suspected to have broken into the house of the diplomat. It was gathered that the police officers were interrogating him after the break-in where a laptop, television sets and other items were stolen when he said something ‘bigger’ had happened and offered to show them what he was referring to. 

He is alleged to have disclosed that he had killed his friend and cut off his private parts and placed them next to his body. He had left the body near Emvembili Umphakatsi and led police officers to the place. It is alleged that Jomo had initially stabbed Jack about 16 times before cutting off his private parts.

Deputy Police Information and Communications Officer Inspector Nosipho Mnguni confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, Jomo claimed that he stabbed his friend because he wanted to prove that he was ‘Shaka Zulu’. He alleged that Jack did not show him respect and that he often undermined him. He said that it was for this reason that he wanted to show him that he was not a walkover. Jomo also revealed that about a week before the murder, he had broken into the house of the diplomat where he stole electronic items and some beer. He said because the items were many and he could not carry them alone, he called Jack to assist him. He said Jack was not aware that the items had been stolen. However, Jack is said to have started asking Jomo many questions and this angered him despite warning him to stop.  Jomo said he then decided to stab him.

Jomo was arrested and he is expected to appear at the Pigg’s Peak Magistrates Court today. *Not real names pending his appearance in court as he had not been charged.
