MANZINI – His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HNCS) is recruiting and applications will be open for only three days.

An impeccable source within the department said the organisation wanted an undisclosed number of aspiring warders and wadresses to fill a limited number of vacant posts.  The source said the vacant posts were created by officers who left the department after retiring, due to death and resignation. He said interested candidates should be citizens of the Kingdom of  Eswatini and be aged between 20 and 30 years old. He said they should have a normal vision, be physically and mentally fit and have no previous criminal records.

“They should be of good social character and hold authentic Form V or equivalent certificates with at least three credits, including English,” the insider said. Again, he said language extra qualifications in Undergraduate and Post graduate programmes would be an added advantage in areas of Computer Science, Information Technology (Radio Communication). He added that the applicants would do written and oral interviews and also undergo a vetting process.

Moreover, the insider said interested applicants should submit their applications at the nearest Correctional Services facility from March 14, 2022 to March 16, 2022, between 8am and 5pm. He said applications should be accompanied by certified copies of academic certificates, birth certificates and national identity (ID) and a current reference letter from their headteachers. He emphasised that the closing date for applications would be March 16, 2022. The above developments were confirmed by HMCS Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO) Senior Superintendent Mandla Sibiya.
It is worth noting that HMCS last recruited officers in 2017. On the following year, government implemented a hiring freeze, such that departments which needed to recruit had to apply for a waiver from Cabinet. The hiring freeze is still in force.
