MBABANE- “I have got nothing to lose here.”

This was said by Judge Sipho Nkosi, who further said his life was a mess allegedly because of the chief justice. Speaking on the sidelines of the impeachment, Judge Nkosi said his life became a mess because of the frustration allegedly at the hands of the head of the Judiciary. “I also have nothing to hide here and that is why I wanted the media to be present during the whole process,” said Judge Nkosi. The judge said he was sticking to what he previously said that he did not do anything wrong in this matter. “I have nothing to hide or fear. If I was being subjected to a fair impeachment I was not going to have any problem,” said the judge. The judge said he will not go down without a fight. He also disclosed that the police had also not returned his firearms, which were seized during a raid at his homestead in Mafutseni in April 2021.

Misbehaviour

Some of the charges against Judge Sipho Nkosi relate to serious misbehaviour and/or dereliction of duty in terms of Section 158 of the Constitution ‘for failing to timesouly and effectively preside over, adjudicate upon, handle and finalise timeously matters that have been allocated to you by the registrar of the High Court during the course of the session in that;  In the first session of the High Court of Eswatini, which commenced on January and concluded in May 2019, you were allocated 25 matters comprising of both civil and criminal cases. It will be noted that the majority of these cases had been carried over from the last session of the High Court of Eswatini for 2018.’
