NHLAVANA DIES 4 DAYS AFTER SECOND WIFE’S DEATH

MBABANE - While preparing for the burial of his second wife, family members were shocked to find President of the Traditional Healers Organisation (THO) Dr Nhlavana Maseko dead at his home at KaMashiyazimile.

Dr Maseko’s daughter, Bakhombisile, confirmed the demise of her father who died shortly after hearing news of the death of his second wife, Noyililo Nomsa Kubheka Maseko. According to Bakhombisile, who is also the National Coordinator of the THO, Noyililo died due to COVID-19-related illnesses last Saturday. Bakhombisile said her father was then found dead on Tuesday morning at his home at KaMashiyazimile, Ngomane.

Not so long ago, the Maseko family laid to rest yet another family member, Dr Maseko’s eldest daughter, Phephisile Temangcamane Maseko, who also passed on due to a COVID-19-related illness. According to the family’s public announcement, details about Dr Maseko’s burial would be provided in due course as on Saturday the family had prepared to bury Dr Maseko’s wife (Noyililo). It was mentioned that Noyililo would be laid to rest following a morning service which would commence at 7am. President of the Witchdoctors Association Makhanya Makhanya said as traditional healers they were was devastated by the sad news of the passing of Dr Maseko. Makhanya said Dr Maseko was a man who was serving a lot of people who were now left stranded. Makhanya said as traditional healers, they saw Dr Maseko as their father in the traditional healing space.

Shocked

Makhanya said what shocked them the most was that Dr Maseko died along with his wife. “Nako nje lokutsi ekhaya sebabhubha bonkhe bantfu! Namake nababe naye sewushonile!” said Makhanya is vernacular. He said nonetheless they were putting all trust in God.
