AG DISPLAYS TRUE LEADERSHIP

A display of true leadership was witnessed in the House of Assembly on Tuesday and it didn’t come from those it was most expected during the debate on the current state of affairs brought about by the #JusticeforThabani movement.

The Attorney General (AG), Sifiso Khumalo, showed the desired leadership skills when the Speaker, Petros Mavimbela and some ministers, attempted to disrupt MP Bacede Mabuza who holds strong differing political views, when making his submissions. The AG felt it was important to hear all that MP Mabuza had to say so as to give the appropriate response to his concerns and reply he did, satisfactorily.

The ability to listen to understand the other side is, unfortunately, a trait that has abandoned our leaders who hold the view that only their voice and opinions matter over all others.
What we need is the maturity shown by the AG and listen to the masses if this country is to progress peacefully. While at it, many politicians need to consider the power of the pause; take some time to gather your thoughts before you deliver what you want to say. They should take heed to the words of Jiddu Krishnamurti, who once said; “When you are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it.”
