MBABANE – The COVID-19 pandemic may have limited gatherings or meetings, but Parliamentarians still took it upon themselves to have several sittings.

These were mostly to pass the many money Bills which the Minister of Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, seemed very keen to table almost every week. While it is the core duty of the Members of Parliament to play an oversight role on the Executive and pass laws, the second session of the 11th Parliament did not go by without any drama as expected of parliamentarians.

This was the year when the MPs clashed over the legalisation of cannabis for medicinal and research purposes while they also clashed with Cabinet over the issue of import vehicles, popularly known as ‘Dubais’.

Below we bring you some of the debates which hogged headlines this year.
