4 NEW COVID-19 CASES CONFIRMED

MBABANE – Lubombo remains the only region without COVID-19 confirmed cases as Shiselweni has recorded its second case.


The second Shiselweni case was among four that were announced by the Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi, yesterday. From the added confirmed cases, three are from the Manzini Region and one from Shiselweni. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 36 in the country. Among the four is a 28-year-old female from the Shiselweni Region who had no history of travel and no contact with a confirmed case.

There is also a 43-year-old male and a 33-year-old female from the Manzini Region who both do not have a history of travel but were both in contact with case number 22.


The last case is a 37-year-old male of the same region, who had contact with confirmed case number 24 and 29. Three of the four presented with flu-like symptoms while one had no symptoms of the virus but tested positive.

From the total number of confirmed cases in the country, by gender, there are 20 males and 16 females. Of the 36, 10 have since tested negative, 21 are undergoing treatment, one died and the four new cases are undergoing admission processes, according to the minister.
