MBABANE – A man has been paid E100 000 which was a gift from the late businessman and football administrator Victor Gamedze.

Alex Ndzimandze’s payment is reflected in the first liquidation and distribution account of Gamedze’s estate, which was prepared by the executor Derrick Ndo Jele. During his lifetime, Gamedze is said to have issued a cheque of E100 000 in favour of Ndzimandze, which was a gift but the former did not cash it until the businessman died.  Gamedze was shot dead on January 14, 2018 at Galp Filling Station in Ezulwini.

The executor has since paid Ndzimandze from the multimillion estate of the late businessman, which is now subject to litigation. The nature of the relationship between the late Gamedze and Ndzimandze is not disclosed in the liquidation and distribution list and in the report compiled by the Master of the High Court. According to the first liquidation and distribution account, the sum of E100 000 was paid by the executor to Ndzimandze as an ante-mortem gift. Ante-mortem means occurring or performed before death.

Paid

In her report, the master of the High Court stated that her office went through the voucher as well as the previous executor’s report on this payment. “The previous executor’s report states that Alex Ndzimandze never cashed the cheque which was given to him by the deceased, hence the payment after death,” reads part of the report by the master of the High Court. The master said her office found this payment to be in order and not a double payment. The balance available for distribution is now E52 656 942.43.

The estate of the late Gamedze is being administered in terms of Administration of Estates Act 28 of 1902.  The first liquidation and distribution account is respect of the estate was approved by the master of the High Court on June 13, 2019. Other individuals who benefited from Gamedze’s estate are Manzini businessman Mike Mamba, who received E465 000.
The opinion of a handwriting expert from South Africa led to the payment of the aforementioned amount to Mamba. The expert was involved after Mamba filed a claim against the multimillion estate of the late Gamedze where he was demanding the aforementioned amount.
